Conditioner vs Hair Mask… What’s the Difference?

Should you be using a conditioner or a hair mask? In this blog, I go over what the difference is between a hair conditioner versus a hair mask.

To achieve shiny, luxurious, moisturized hair, I know that you know using conditioner is definitely a must. I also know that a lot of “magical” hair masks have popped up on your feed claiming to transform your hair. Some may have even told you to substitute a hair mask for your conditioner. In this blog, I am going over the difference between a hair mask and a conditioner so you don’t have to!

But what really is the difference?

Conditioner Breakdown

Basically, conditioner is a light weight product that conditions the cuticle of your hair (hence the name). It is advised to use conditioner for every wash after shampooing. Especially with the recent dry weather, conditioner is not something you want to skip out on.

Hair Mask Breakdown

Hair masks are designed to penetrate deeper into the cuticle and moisturize your hair. But beware, you might not be able to use a hair mask everyday, because it is can be very heavy and weigh your hair down. It is advised to use a hair mask at least once a week. You can apply the mask on dry hair before shampooing or after on towel dried hair.

As for substituting? It’s up to you and your hair texture. If you are looking for more volume, just using a hair mask will weigh it down. If your hair is on the dryer side, this could be a suitable option for you.

Because Moroccanoil has the highest concentrate of Argan Oil on the market, it helps improve elasticity and texture.
