1. Honesty is the Best Policy:

During the consultation, there has to be a mutual understanding for both you and your stylist. You have to fully disclose all of your hair history for you to be able to achieve your goal correctly. You also have to be honest with yourself, are you able to take the necessary that may include multiple services? Your stylist will appreciate the honesty so they know what to expect.

2. Give Constructive Criticism:

If you do not like the service or the outcome of the service, be open to telling your stylist what you don’t like. What can your stylist change in your next appointment to make you happy? Constructive criticism allows your stylist to grow.

3. It Could Be a Long Journey:

Within a consultation, you should be briefed about the roadmap to your hair goal. If you do not understand what’s to come, you may get frustrated if it’s not met within a certain amount of appointments. This could lead you to not come back.

4. Did you enjoy your experience?:

A big part of you not coming back could be your experience. Your experience should be special by making the conversation about you, not just them. Sometimes the salon environment is not what you expect, so you may not be too excited to come back. Also, you may not appreciate being double booked, because it doesn’t make you feel special.

5. Availability:

They’re not available, like ever. This is good for your stylist, but really bad for you. If you can’t get in, you will go to someone more available. To avoid this, make sure to rebook your stylist at the end of each appointment so you always have a spot.
