How to Combat Dry Hair and Skin This Winter

Yay! Winter time! Cue the dry skin. In this blog, I show you how I combat dry hair and skin this winter! Based on Rebel Femme Podcast.

If you’re anything like me, your skin is dry. The fluctuating weather patterns is not helping the situation. In this blog, I show you how I combat dry hair and skin this winter! Based on Rebel Femme Podcast.

Jojoba Oil

My favorite thing to add to my hair and skin when it gets dry is jojoba oil. With its moisturizing and anti-aging properties, jojoba oil deeply penetrates into your skin. The structure of jojoba oil is the most similar oil to our skin’s natural sebum, therefore we are able to absorb this oil much faster.

Exfoliate!

It is also important to exfoliate, exfoliate, exfoliate! It is very essential to remove dead skin cells from your skin. Not only does exfoliating allow you to absorb products better, it also leaves your skin smooth and soft.

Kenra Detox scrub

I know you know that it is necessary to exfoliate your face, but did you know its important to exfoliate your scalp as well? Kenra Professional has a Deep Detox Scrub designed to draw out and clarify pollutants in your hair. Not only does this product exfoliate your scalp, but it also removes product buildup, therefore leaving your hair shiny and beautiful.

Hair Masks

Do you use any hair masks? In a recent blog, I talked about the difference between a hair mask and a conditioner. If your hair is feeling dry, I would recommend using a heavy duty hair mask, such as Intense Hydrating Mask from Moroccanoil. Because this line has such high Argan Oil concentration, it is designed to hydrate your dry hair.

Leave in Conditioners

After the shower, add some moisturizing leave in products. Luxe One Leave- In Miracle Spray helps revitalize hair and leave it perfectly silky. Just a couple of sprays and you’re good to go!

Moisturize!

After cleansing your face, make sure to moisturize! I always add a couple drops of jojoba oil as mentioned, but my favorite way to keep my skin hydrated is with Image Skincare VITAL C Hydrating Intense Moisturizer. This product has high amounts of Vitamin C and anti-oxidants, so it is sure to replenish your dry skin.

Don’t forget about your lips! Image Skincare has a polypeptide formula to combat dry skin, making your lips look naturally full.

Let us know if any of these products have helped you this winter in the comments!
