Oh man! What a time! I’m sure you know by now, COVID has basically ruined 2020. It has shaken everyone up, so in the brand new Rebel Femme Podcast, a podcast for women, Mirella and Yadira decide to talk about it.
Some topics that they discuss in the podcast are WHY they are closing the season out early, a recap of how you can support us, what we have been REALLY doing during our COVID hiatus, New Team members, AND what exciting things to come.
Why they are closing the season out early:
To start off, we obviously had to close. Everyone was nervous and unsure of what the future held in store. But then, we were able to reopen late May! Victory! But wait! Then we had to close again early July.
Many stylist are very upset about this closure (obviously) but what really was upsetting is what the CDC posted on their Instagram story. To sum it up, 2 stylist fell ill with Coronavirus and came in contact with 139 clients, none of which got covid.
The CDC used this hair salon example to prove that the masks are working…. so why are we closed? To read more on that, check out this article.
In relation, many stylists are banning together and protesting to reopen.

What we have been focused on during this time:
The only thing we can do is controlling things we can control.
So, we started with the slight rebrand of Rebel Femme Salon to Rebel Femme Salon – Podcast – Shop. We also updated the website and got our online shop functioning. Mirella was able to focus on launching Learn How to Upstyle in 7 Days, which us a foundational upstyling course!
Yadira is starting her own one women sweatshop by creating Rebel Femme Merch! Stay tuned for some cute masks and other things coming your way.
New team members and What’s to come:
We have some new team members, Becca, Shar, and Taylor, to add to the Rebel Femme Family!
We are trying to redecorate the media room (we have been doing this project since we opened). We are getting new mics, recording equipment … and more plant children. Duh. Overall, we revamping our podcast which is another reason why we are closing out the season early.
