The most wonderful time of year… in September?!?

In this blog, I go over my favorite New York Fashion Week hairstyles. Oh, and just for you, I show you how you can recreate the looks at home!

The most wonderful time of the year has finally returned! And no it’s not Christmas… it’s New York Fashion Week! In this blog, I go over my favorite New York Fashion Week hairstyles.

While I was drooling over the amazing pieces presented at this year’s show, I noticed that most of the hairstyles were extremely wearable and super easy to recreate at home.

All across the runway, this years top designers decided to go for a more simple and delicate look. They played on the model’s natural beauty and pulling their hair off of their face.

Loose curls with a middle part

A popular style on the catwalk was very soft and graceful curls, parted down the middle and tucked behind the ear.

To re-create this look at home, you can use an iron with a bigger barrel to form soft curls. Don’t forget to use thermal protection, like MoroccanOil’s Perfect Defense Spray.

Make sure to brush the curls out for an effortless wave, and tuck it behind the ear to show off your gorgeous face!

Messy Bun

Another trendy hairstyle that I saw frequently, was a messy bun pulled off of the face to accentuate the cheekbones and jawlines. This gives a little bit of height to the crown.

To achieve this look, use your favorite volumizing products, such as Kenra Dry Texture Spray, to get the lift at the top. Gently brushing your hair back and wrapping your luscious locks until your bun looks effortlessly messy.

Natural hair

While I was expecting there to be crazy in vogue hairstyles on the runway, I was pleasantly surprised to see a lot of styles that were suitable to the models and played off of their natural texture.
